There are some advantages of the first gen Firebirds:

-way cheaper to buy a nice 67-69 firebird over a equivalent camaro

-67 firebirds had better suspension(camaro would copy in 68)

Only one really big problem with the firebird: it's not a camaro

Camaro is good, but Firebird is better or equal in most categories.
